Starting slowly at first with "Charlie's Angels," Hollywood's going full steam ahead on reanimating late 70's & early 80's TV corpses.
We had "SWAT" a few weeks ago. There's "Starsky & Hutch" in 2004 starring Owen Wilson and Ben Stiller, with Snoop Dogg as Huggy Bear. I've read articles of upcoming film versions of "The A-Team" and "The Dukes of Hazzard," whose cast may include Ashton Kutcher, Paul Walker and Britney Spears as Daisy Duke.
Also in development: big-screen versions of "Hart to Hart," "Fantasy Island," "Knight Rider," and "The Six Million Dollar Man." Frankly I don't know how the last two shows are going to work. KITT, the talking car in "Knight Rider", was a gay Pontiac Firebird. What the hell is he going to do in the remake, marry a Hummer in Vermont? And in terms of new body parts, we already have a six-million dollar woman in Cher (Oh man that joke was downright fucking awful.)
I'm just hoping the studio geniuses don't forget the greatest early 80's epic of them all: Manimal, starring none other than Rog of course.
