If you haven't done it yet, check out the preview of Microsoft's Window Live Local. It's a beefed-up version of A9's BlockView maps. Besides the satellite view, Live Local gives you a street-level POV of almost every block of downtown Seattle or San Francisco as you navigate with a virtual car. The screengrab above was taken right before I accidentally drove my virtual car into my girlfriend's favorite restaurant, Boulevard, killing several patrons and the sous-chef.
So the good news is that Showtime may have picked up 26 new episodes of Arrested Development
. The bad news is that I don't want to order Showtime. I've already got HBO and Starz, dammit, and nothing's going to make me shell out for yet another premium channel. Nothing, I tell you. Not even the prospect of once again hearing George Sr. whimper, "Daddy horny, Michael." I guess I'll have to wait til the DVDs hit Netflix.
