You already know that I'm a big fan of the absurdly insane, sadistic, face-losing brilliance that is Downtown's Gaki No Tsukai. This is a long one, and is broken up into six Youtube clips (and it's not even the entire episode), complete with subtitles. Four of the guys spend 24 hours in a gym, and are repeatedly attacked by an army of torturers clad in black leather full-body outfits - each specializing in a different form of pain and humiliation. This seriously reminded me of my past weekend, except that mine didn't feature a futon flapper.
Screenwriter Josh Olson ("A History of Violence") wrote a fascinating true story about an online romance that involved his friend. To summarize, she fell madly in love with a firefighter/poet/9-11 survivor over the Internet during a two-year romance and decided to leave her husband to move in with her online lover. Except the guy never existed. The whole thing has shades of JT LeRoy. Anyway, this is why I avoid the computer when it comes to finding love and stick to lurking in women's restrooms at amusement parks.
